I’m getting all sentimental and excited about hitting my one year mark as a crafting YouTuber .... so I wanted to challenge myself and make something as tall as my 5 1/2 yr old. I make cake toppers, iron-on vinyl on shirts, personalize anything and everything ... but i feel like when it comes to off-the-mat characters, I am a legit superstar 😁πŸ€ͺπŸ˜‚πŸ€£. This toddler Snow White is going to be bananas 🍌 🍌 🍌.

For all the pics, she is untaped (just off the cutting mat and placed next to each other). But you can already see what a difference the black glitter cardstock does for the seam, as well as the gold glitter cardstock for the skirt. And for any enclosed areas (like the eyes and mouth), make a copy and cut it in black (like her face here). That seam was running through her right eye and her mouth. But wait, what seam!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ™ŒπŸ».

Here are my tips ... with a new one at #1 and #5.

New #1. The grain of the paper matters. My husband has literally been telling me that paper is just like fabric and the direction of the grain matters. Instead I waited for a stranger (but a crafting friend that I cherish - @chilovestocraft πŸ₯°) to comment before I paid attention. πŸ˜‚πŸ€£. Prime example of married life πŸ€ͺ😝. So I sliced up the dark blue in Cinderella’s skirt into 3 pieces. It’s sitting there looking pretty seamless without even taping it down. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ™ŒπŸ».

2. Image selection is important. She is broken up into parts: head, top, skirt, legs and shoes. This gives you the opportunity to make her big without seams. She’s 48 inches here cause I wanted to make her as tall as my daughter. I’m sure at 36 inches (which is big) would have truly been seamless.

3. Materials : Snow White: the black glitter cardstock really does hide the seams well. Also the gold glitter cardstock is a way better choice than yellow cardstock for the skirt. As for Cinderella, the dark blue is amazing for her skirt.

4. And for any enclosed areas (like the eyes and mouth), make a copy and cut it in black (like her face here). That seam was running through her right eye and her mouth. But wait, what seam!!! πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ™ŒπŸ».

And a new #5 - Create a purposeful seam. Say what?!?
Her hair was too big so I made a part. πŸ‘πŸ».
